SecondCast Goes to the Machinima Festival…
Check out SecondCast, Episode #42, in which Johnny Ming roams the halls of the 2006 Machinima Festival of the Academy of Machinima Arts and Sciences. (I was there too, but would only sit still to be interviewed by Johnny about the New York City “…
Color me impressed – I can’t believe it’s already edited and up! Wasn’t it still be recorded just a few hours ago? Great work, gents.
LOL! Very good field reporting. Did anyone reading this see that hamburger on stage?? That really was incredible. I didn’t know what it was until I zoomed in on it and I snorted incredibly loudly in the otherwise quiet theater. That was a special moment.
I’m also glad I got to say “baby got backchannel” on the internet.
Also, for a little color on Johnny Ming, the live recording contraption (LRC) he uses looks just like the ghost trap in Ghostbusters with a mic plugged into it. I think he keeps these conversations in the Secto Castainment unit…at least until the EPA comes knocking. Then I think we all have to fight the Stay-Puft Mingmellow Man. History repeats itself.
BTW a nice Secondcast title for this would be the line “Sneaky Little Fruit”. =)
“Baby got backchannel” was my favorite line from the episode, referencing Destroy TV.
As for the Marantz solid state recorder looking like a ghost trap… I do see the resemblance.
[...] This past weekend was the 2006 Machinima Festival in New York City. Jonah/Hank and I were there streaming video from the fest into the Laguna Beach theater in Second Life. John Swords did an awesome live podcast as episode #42 of SecondCast with conversation and interviews before, during, and after the award ceremony, with lots of candid conversation and where I proudly get to say “baby got back channel” about the Destroy Television avatar. Both the Second Life and real theater at the Museum of the Moving Image were hopping during the awards. Here are a couple of pics from Rik Riel: [...]
